Julianne Ankley’s exhibit features landscapes, seascapes and flowers in oils, acrylics, and mixed media.Julianne Ankley is best known for her work in oils, acrylics and watercolors.  She originally found inspiration from the Impressionist masters of the 19th century and later developed her own vibrant style.  Her work has been featured at Studio 1219 several years in a row,  at the “Best of the Best” show.  While she loves to work on large canvas, her extensive mural work has been displayed both publicly and privately throughout the state of Michigan.  Julianne is also a professional performing songwriter.  For more information on Julianne Ankley’s art, go to www.julianneankleyart.com.

Born in Parma, Ohio, Jennifer Glance currently resides in Coldwater, Ohio. She earned a doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University. A lifelong artist, she applies her knowledge of anatomy to portray the human figure. Notable awards include a visual arts scholarship, scholastic art award, a finalist standing for Kroger’s community art project in Clinton Township, Michigan, and second place for 2D work at the St. Clair Annual Fine Arts Exhibit in 2017. Her solo exhibition at Studio 1219 in Port Huron, Michigan is scheduled for October 2018.

Current and notable exhibitions: OOAVR 2017 exhibition, juror Charlie Kanswischer, Director, School of Art, Bowling Green State University. Annual Juried Fine Arts Exhibition 2016 and 2017, The Crooked Tree Art Center, Petoskey, Michigan, juror Takeshi Takahara, 2016. Juror 2017: Patrick Wise.

“You are Here” The Carr Center, Detroit, in association with Things Feel Heavy. Curated by Anna van Schaap. The show was described as”a visual treat” by fine arts columnist, Michael Hodges, of The Detroit News.

Jennifer’s work is represented by: Terra Gallery, Dublin, Ohio, Studio 1219, Port Huron, Michigan, The Blue Fish Kitchen, Manistee, Michigan, The Blue Cow Café, and The Alice W. Moore Center for the Arts, St. Clair, Michigan.

Charitable donations of Jennifer’s work have been sold at auction at The Crooked Tree Arts Center and Dayton Visual Arts Center in 2017.

Jennifer’s work is in private collections. Her current work is focused on the Ohio landscape in oil mixed media. She is drawn to water and the landscape as her subjects, as they are in constant flux, yet remain resilient with time. Jennifer continues to draw her inspiration from the words of Walt Whitman:

“Oh, to confront night, storms, hunger,

Ridicule, accidents, rebuffs,

As the trees and animals do.”
