Posted June 27, 2011

As a special event through August, St. Clair County Community College’s The Spiral Studio is featuring pottery work created by SC4 ceramics instructor Celeste Skalnek and her students. The studio will show the exhibit through Tuesday, Aug. 30. A reception is planned for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 1, at the studio. The show, called “Studies in Clay,” features a study in sculptural and functional pottery with different glaze applications. Pieces by Skalnek and several of her students will be featured.

The students are:

Mark Brant of Port Huron
Diane Pauli of Port Huron
Robin Schweihofer of Marysville
Elizabeth Ullenbruch of Port Huron
Kristine Walkowski of Port Huron

The Spiral Studio is workspace at Studio 1219 in Port Huron for SC4 students, faculty and alumni. Generally each month, an SC4 art instructor or alumni artist is featured working in the studio.

SC4 students and alumni are welcome to use the studio to create their own work, converse with the guest artist, and network with fellow students and artists at Studio 1219. The public is welcome to visit and discuss art with The Spiral Studio artists.

The Spiral Studio and Studio 1219 hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
