Studio 1219 announced today the Studio’s Holiday Galleries will be opening this week with reasonably priced one-of-a-kind gifts of art—many especially for Christmas—created by the Studio’s 100-plus local artists. A reception for the Holiday Galleries is 6pm to 9pm this Friday, at the Studio. And, the Holiday Galleries are open through December 30th. Studio 1219’s Executive Director, Lee-Perry Belleau, also announced the Studio is bringing back the very popular Ten Thousand Villages Festival Sale. “We’re excited to have this combination of unique work from local and international artisans here,” Belleau said.
“The Studio’s artists have created innumerable distinctive and exclusive art gifts for under $50. Add to that the fair trade work of handmade jewelry, toys, home décor, and gifts from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East, and we have a fun holiday shopping opportunity for everyone.”
The local artists of the Studio’s Artists’ Network have been working over the past couple months preparing exceptional paintings, matted photos, pottery and ceramics, jewelry, cards, and so much more in preparation for the Holiday Galleries – and all at reasonable prices.
Ten Thousand Villages provides vital, fair income to Third World people by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America. Ten Thousand Villages works with artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed. This income helps pay for food, education, health care and housing. Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit program of the Mennonite Central Committee.
