Posted October 19, 2007
Art patrons can meet potter Duane Collins during a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Studio 1219, 1219 Military St., Port Huron.
Collins, who is the studio’s featured artist of the month, has created everything from wall vases to cheese platters.
Besides Collins’ traditional pottery, his exhibit “Intersections: Where color, form and texture meet” will include works meant to be observed, enjoyed and contemplated.
“The wall hangings I have been creating have come from experimentation and from ideas that have needed to express themselves for a long time,"Collins said.
Exhibit hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays and noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 31.
Wine and cheese is being served at the reception. Admission is free.
