About Fire & Ice

In October of 2005, Studio 1219, a non-profit art center located in Downtown Port Huron with 501(c) 3 status, opened its doors as an art incubator dedicated to community art enrichment and creating opportunities for artists. By growing arts related businesses and helping the artist into the economy, the studio has given the community greater access to the arts by offering numerous fine art classes to all ages.

In September 2007, we offered the Blue Water Area’s first FREE art education festival with children’s activities, artists demonstrating their skills in pottery, wood, and glass and clay games for all attendees including artists, local businesses and the community of art patrons. A Raku pottery yard was available for the public to purchase a bisque piece of pottery to glaze and have it fired during the festival. Also, the start of a fine arts fair was organized. It was a great success!

In 2008 we are hosting the second annual Fire & Ice Art Educational Festival and Juried Fine Arts Fair. This great community event has the potential to be a tradition in Port Huron and utilizes the help of approximately 100 volunteers. Studio 1219, Chase Bank, The Blue Water Arts Council and Gannett have made a valuable commitment to making the Arts accessible by providing a full range of cultural programs for children and adults in the greater Blue Water Area here in Michigan.

Support Studio 1219

Studio 1219 is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization created by a Cool Cities Grant to bring arts, community involvement and economic development together. Your donations help to make Studio 1219 possible. Any level of support is greatly appreciated and will be put to maximum use. Donations are tax deductible.

Building Use

Studio 1219 is a multi-purpose building open to the public. Space can be rented out for birthday parties, receptions, meetings, bridal showers, baby showers, and much more. Prices vary.
