The Fourth annual Fire & Ice Festival located again at the beautiful corners of the St. Clair River and Black River in Port Huron, Michigan. Fire & Ice is “Going Green” this year. Come explore all the ways you can re-use everyday items in unusual ways. This is a hands-on, come and get messy playing in the arts Education Festival unlike any other. Our vision is to enrich the quality of life that leads to a growing economy, increased educational opportunities, and cultural tourism. Studio 1219 and its cultural partners will once more host this unique free event.
This year we are inviting Arts related non-profits to join us during the festival by adding a hands-on project for the community that will represent and educate about their organization. Click here for the non-profit application.
- The Children's Canvas will have art projects for ages 14 and under with an area for pre-schoolers.
- The Adult Hands-On tent will have unique art projects for 14 and up such as air brush and liquid watercolor.
- Visit the Arts in Action tent and see the artists hard at work demonstrating their talents and unusual styles in wide range of art mediums.
- In the Raku Yard we will offer glazing and firing of pottery for the public for a small fee.
- Join us for some Clay Games in a team sculpture competition and pinch pot relays.
- Studio 1219 Artist Network will be present with a tent filled with fine arts for sale.
- The Port Huron Museum will host an art history area where you can learn about the French great master Georges Seurat who invented pointillism.
- The St. Clair County Library System will host a children’s creative entertainer in writing/poetry/illustrating or cartooning to promote expressing yourself.
- Artist Alley: A beguiling blend of artisans barter their exclusive creations in this juried fine arts and crafts fair hosted by Studio 1219.
- Studio 1219 Gallery Tours on the hour.
- Emerging Artist Tent: Art Students of all ages are invited to display, demonstrate and sell their artwork.
- Young Collectors Tent: Youths 17 and under can start their collection of original Fine Art in this tent. No adult purchases please. Add to your collection stated last year.
- Theatre Arts Tent: Enter.Stage.Right. and The Thespis Group will host the four stations of behind-the-scenes theatre.
New in 2010
- Help us create mosaic tiles and object for a future public art display of mosaic Michigan Lake fish sculptures for along the St. Clair River from Algonac north up the river.
- Come meet local art nonprofit groups and try their hands on actives. The Fire & Ice Steering Committee is inviting all arts related nonprofit groups to contact us and join in the festival.

Studio 1219 is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization created by a Cool Cities Grant to bring arts, community involvement and economic development together. Building Use
Studio 1219 is a multi-purpose building open to the public. Space can be rented out for birthday parties, receptions, meetings, bridal showers, baby showers, and much more. Prices vary.
