Jerry Power Pastel Workshop
Learn to complete a landscape pastel painting from a photograph using plein air techniques that Jerry developed as a plein air artist. He will demonstrate showing the difficulties instruction. Class includes a demonstration followed by individual instructions, a sheet of Wallis paper and artist’s notes.
Minimum students 6, Max number of students 15.

JERRY POWER, PSA, IAPS
I started painting in 1989 but became a serious painter ten years later after retiring from a management position with Ameritech. I’ve participated in several artist-in-residence programs, including two National Parks; Sleeping Bear Dunes and Indiana Dunes. I belong to several art organizations including the Great Lakes Pastel Society and the Michigan Plein Air Painters. I am a Master Painter with the Great Lakes Plein Air Painters Association, a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and a member of the Master Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies.
I’ve won numerous local and national awards including First Place Landscape in the 2002 Pastel Journal National Competition, the Silver Award at the Seventh Annual International Association of Pastel Societies Exhibition in 2004, The Pastel Society of America 2005 Award in the “Pastel USA” of the Pastel Society of the West Coast, the 2005 Gold Medal Award with the Great Lakes Pastel Society, Best of Show at the 2005 Arkansas Pastel Society National Exhibition, and Best of Show at the Maryland Pastel Society 2006 Nationals in Washington, DC. This years awards include the 2nd Place CSW Award in the Chicago Pastel Painters “Pastels Chicago” national exhibition. I’ve been in several publications, including a feature in the May 2003 American Artist magazine.
