Jane Barden

Jane Barden is an artist and potter. Her interests have included drawing, painting, woodworking, and ceramics. She is focused on pottery now, hand building an array of work. Some of her newest interests include tile making projects. She creates tile works of nature that draw you into the serenity of the piece. She says “You just can’t get any closer to nature than working hands-on with the earth itself.”

Jane lives in a wooded refuge in St. Clair County in the same environment she grew up in. She is always surrounded by family, including five grandchildren, and friends. Her home and studio are friendly gathering places where you can often find her creating her next piece in her particular style inspired by her setting and those around her. Jane also teaches ceramics and enjoys sharing her experience with others.
