Donn Enger

I have worked in stained glass for about 20 years, starting out taking a class in Flint, MI.  I have taken some classes locally and in Monroe and a lot of my knowledge was through classes, books, observation and experimentation.  As an artist, I always liked working with color and texture (probably from my time working as a pottery artist) and I work both of them into my work.  This is why many of my art pieces incorporate decorative soldering and textured glass.  My designs are original and very few of my works are duplicated.  I enjoy the designing process and seeing the end result of the completed stained glass work.  I have sold work locally as well as having work acquired outside of the state.  I have been commissioned to do some windows and like doing this because of the creative aspect and getting to know and work with my clients.  My inspiration for my ideas comes from within
and is also triggered by observation of things around me.
