Denise Manninen
Denise Falzon Manninen is a fine artist and art teacher from Lexington, MI.
Exhibiting annually for the past 20 years at the Lexington Fine Arts Fair, many collect Denise’s pen and ink/ watercolor prints of their favorite local scenes. Historical buildings, quaint cottages, lighthouses, and beach scenes are often the subject matter of Denise’s work. Florals, landscapes and still life are new favorite themes of the artist.
In her 23rd year of teaching art to youth in East China Schools in St. Clair, MI, art history remains a strong component of Denise’s curriculum. Many ideas for her own work and her art lessons derive from the famous artists she studies with her students. “ Art history can plant the seed for our own creative ideas because we make connections through our own experiences. Art really can bridge us through the ages and across the globe!”
Honors include a solo show at the historic Players Theatre, Detroit, MI in November 2008, Honorable Mention and inclusion of artwork in the Lexington Business Assn Calendar of Events, and an art exchange at Gearing Elementary School which collected over 600 lbs. of food for a local food bank in May 2009.
Denise presents a variety of affordable watercolor/pen and ink prints, vintage-beaded mobiles, melted glass designs, and acrylic paintings. Information to commission a painting of your own home is available by contacting Denise at 810 359- 2140.
