Cindy Badley
A multi-media artist inspired by nature and an award winning photographer and graphic designer, Cindy Badley uses color and texture to express the depth of life the piece represents. Mediums include paint, paper, colored pencil, graphite, glass, metal and clay. Her most recent commissioned project: painted rain barrels. When young, she would go on long walks with her grandmother who taught her to look at nature and observe the uniqueness of earth’s inhabitants and how they also come together as a whole. Through her life, she has been working in various mediums and loves their individual qualities and, as in life, how they too can come together to make something beautiful. In high school, Cindy utilized her time by taking a varied amount of art classes including art, drama, drafting, interior design and woodshop. She has worked at a lumber and hardware store where she learned the properties and application of paint, how to use power tools and other building materials. As an adult, she has furthered her artistic learning and became a graphic designer and photographer. Along with continuing her own business, she has used her skills in various jobs such as demonstrating craft making and teaching at Studio 1219 where she loves to be around souls like hers. Currently she is the Co-Coordinator of Studio 1219’s Fire & Ice Art Education Festival and is also serving as Artist Alley Chair for the festival. She wishes to pursue a career in the arts where she can continue to grow in spirit and create from the heart.
